Transmission Differential?? 94 LS automatic

so i took my car to the shop thinking it was my driverside axle making this clicking noise but after they inspected my car they said its coming from my Transmission Differential it makes a loud ticking noise in third gear ( i have an automatic Integra) what my question is will a new tranny fix this problem im not too great with cars and motors

Chances are your diff is missing teeth It's going to be annoying right now but eventually it's going to get worse. You could try draing the fluid and get the metal chips out. This is only going to prolong it. I'm really supprised it hasn't started in any other gears yet. I'll bet your 3rd gear friction pads (possibly gears) got something going on too. If it's you diff, now would be an excellent time to upgrade to a limited slip. if you look on ebay-you might be abel to find a used type r-maybe password jdm. If you want a really good one, check out Cusco or Quafe. Whatever you do, stay away from the phantom grip crap differential or anyhting labled as a drag spool.

well i have an automatic so imma just get a another LS JDM tranny with 30k on it instaled for 580 im not too goo with motoes or trannys but i think that should fix the problem
