Tranny help!!!

This winter I got my car stuck in some snow and in the process of trying to get it out I stripped out 4th gear on the trans and was wondering what the hell I need to do to fix it or if I would just have to get a whole new transmission. The car works fine I just can't get past 85mph without redlining.

You can't get into fifth at all? The gear would have to be replaced, along with whatever else was damaged.

the trans isn't terrible to rebuild if you're mechanically inclined, but a hydraulic press, snap ring pliers, and a heat gun are the minimum you'll need for tools. If i was going in i'd replace all the synco's and check the bearings for metal shavings if you tore it up that much
