Track Whore Thread

Lately I've been seeing more CI members getting into motorsports, which is freakin awesome! Whether you autocross, drag, or road race, this is the thread to be in. I thought it would be nice to have a specific thread for serious track enthusiasts to talk about experiences, setups, etc. Hopefully more members will be interested in motorsports. Game on.

Once I got my DB8 back in October 2006, I started to drive at my local touge, ACH (Angeles Crest Highway). After a few months, I realized how dangerous it was on the touge when driving near the limit. After talking with some members at TrackHQ, I attended my first HPDE (High Performance Driving Event) at Horse Thief Mile at Willow Springs International Raceway in Rosamond, CA. I had so much fun out on the track and I instantly got hooked. When I first got my DB8, I never thought I'd be where I am today. Now I'm in the process of turning the DB8 into a time attack car. I will be competing in Super Lap Battle and Redline Time Attack starting in 2010. I will be running in the Street Class.

^ Your bro's E30 is sick! That passenger seat doesn't look very comfortable.
Thanks

trust me it's not. we had 2 of them in the car and the driver seat just would not work. so we put the Sparco in.

You're welcome. Yeah, I bet that Sparco seat is much more comfortable. I'm planning to get a Recaro Profi SPG soon. I went bucket seat shopping and fell in love with it. Fits nice and snug and felt very comfy.

I love E30's, I have thought about selling my teg to get one I would try to track down a 325ix though...

I'm a sucker for awd, I use to have a awd tsi talon and loved it, plus they are better in the snow since I live in MO

I like all forms of racing. When the teg is back on the road I will be going to auto-X and drag events. I know it's an odd combo but those are the easiest events for me to attend. I'm not building the car for any specific classes and I don't know of any road courses around me, but auto-X's show up all the time and there's like 3 drag strips within driving distance. I'll post up some threads with details and pics/vids when I make it to a few.
