Im thinking about using some touch up paint to to clean up all the scratches thats on my front bumper. Especially from where my cheapo lip spoiler was rubbing on the bottom of my bumper. im ordering the spoon cf one i cant take this no more i should of done that from the start, but the thing is i need to clean up the scratches that were made from the lip. has anyone ever tried to use touch up paint to repair scratches? any helpful hints are appreciated. i just order the paint and taking off the lip as soon as it gets in. never will i go cheap again!

Depends how deep the scratches are. Most scratches can be wet sanded and polished out with a compound.

Or you can just fill them in with a paint. It would look cleaner wet sanding them. Could you do me a favor and maybe take some pictures of them?

No worries, when you wet sand all you are doing is leveling out the clear coat. Most scratches are in the clear while others are far too deep to be removed by wet sanding. You can save A LOT of money by just wet sanding scratches rather than pay the 300 at a body shop to do the same thing.

OMFG. pretty sure this is the first time this has ever happened on a forum. lmao. congrats for being competent and able to do something by yourself, as for the touchup paint, i used the paint match stuff from pepboys to cover some spots that were flaked to the metal and it definitely looks better, but the match is not perfect.

The top one looks like it can come out. The bottom picture im a little iffy on. The paint chips you can't take out but the scratches you can.

The scratches on your lip aren't those covered up when you put it on?

Dont paint it. It will look 100% worse than just leaving the scratch alone.
Buff it out a tiny bit. Clay bar, then wax.

Thats not the lips fault though bro... It just came up everytime you hit the lip or the wobble. I actually screwed mine on so it wouldnt move at all and the brackets too.

I can still see it above my lip. Its just going to annoy the shyt out of me when I get the spoon oem lip. Or maybe the spoon lip will cover it I dunno. Should I just take it to a body shop and get them to fix it?
