(Before you read this please know I am not trying to defame anyones character, i am simply stating a factual experience that I had and am exercising my 1st amendment right) RACELINE USA Temple City, CA owner Elton Lo, when I first talked to the guy yes he sounded like he knew what he was talking about and seemed nice. What I had was a 90 integra that I took the motor out of, took the motor apart to clean it up and asked him if he could and would be willing to put it back together and in the car and he said yes. I told him its an old car so some hoses broke so I dont have those and that it needed a new heater core and the passenger axle needed to be replaced. So i brought him the car and the motor and everything else(nuts and bolts) were in boxes inside of the car. As he was working on it he swore up and down that one of the mounts was not in the car so i needed to go to a junkyard and get one which i did. go to the get the car today and see the mount lying there, "oh it was in a bag that i thought was just oil, you were right it was in there i just didnt see it." the car was up on the lift and i see two new axles and i ask him why, "oh i couldnt find the driver side one." it was right behind the drivers seat in a black trash bag that i took out and showed him which was full of water because he left my car outside in the rain with the window down. "oh i thought it was a power window," which it is not its a manual crank up and down, and somehow now my window doesnt work, totally off the track. so im driving it home today and try to set the cruise, that doesnt work either. back to the heater core, he bypassed it and now the car doesnt have heat because he said that he forgot to fix it and when he remembered it was too late because the motor was already in the car. oh yeah, the bushing that is under the brake where the cotter pin goes in was shot so i took it out and he said he would replace that too, nope. "dude next time you bring a car to me dont take so many things apart." so long story short, yes the car does run, wow! however i paid an extra $70 for an axle i didnt need and $30 for a mount, so $100 just for his laziness. on top of that i now have no heater, no cruise control, a broken window, no bushings, and a car that smells like mold. $740 down the drain, thank you RACELINE and Elton. Please learn from my mistake and dont ever go there.

Talk to them. Maybe they can work something out to get those things fixed that were their fault.

This dude is a member here that promotes them.

i called him back about the window and he said that i was accusing him of breaking it, i just told him that it was fine before i got there and now its not, so he said if i brought it back he would fix the window but that he will never work on one of my cars again cuz i was accusing him of breaking it. fact of the matter is that he said he would do all those things for me but either forgot or just plain got sick of working on my old ass car. my bad for not making him a list of everything but its stuff he saw during the reassembly process. he at one point said he just wanted to get my car out of his shop cuz he had others he needed to work on. i told him that i planned on selling this car so i think that is y he gave such a half-assed effort, but i dont want to sell someone a pos, that isnt cool.

Im sorry you had a bad experience with them, but i would wait for JDMxDB8 to post on this or your other thread, he is the lesion between the site and them and will probably be able to find some sort of resolution.

Who ever was your mechanic. I would be upset too. Wtf for a half ass job that they don't want to do. If they didn't want the job, might as well no take it and move to the next place that will do it right! You didn't have a gun to their head. If they don't fix it, I would go as far as taking them to small claims. Or talk to the owner directly. "if you didn't"

First time I hear about them doing this. Regardless, a customer deserves respect and if it was a verbal contract to get fixed, then it should've been done the right way.

You don't need a lawyer. Just state your evidence that the window worked fine prior, your interior was ruined, they didn't finish the job "get quotes on how much to get fixed", etc... HAVE GOOD EVIDENCE!

You will either get

A) Money for repairs / refund / have them fix it

B) Blue book value... if the repairs exceed the price of the car. (not likely if it exceeds what you paid for the job)

But the OP did say that he was having trouble reaching some sort of agreement with Elton. I find that pretty strange, because i have had nothing but possitive results from him and i know you have too

Jeff,

I’m in shock that you were dissatisfied with your experience here. I am a man of word and always take care of my customers. I instructed you to drive your car for 1 week to make sure no other issues arise, then come back to finish the rest of the build. The parts that you require are not in stock as I informed you of. As of now there is no storage space in the shop. Please let me know if you can bring the car back next week so we can finish up the car. I already agreed to replace the window regulator free of charge.

You agreed to fix it but seemed very angry and stated that it would be the last time that you would work on any of my cars. I appreciate you trying to rectify the situation, I pmed you.
