I've done this ten times today. Everytime I use the bathed manual but it still runs rough. Poor exceleration and top end. Idles rough too. Now when I put it up the up arrows the intake one bounces to the left to be closed while the exhaust stays straight up. So I left it like that 3 different times still same out come. So I did it by holding the I take straight up and putting the belt on I ha e even done it by taken the exhaust and turning it to match the intake still come out with the same outcome what am I doing wrong. I have followed the book exactly. Putting the crankshaft gear line with oil pump then around tensioner the water pump then exhaust and ba k to intake and made sure to tighten tensioner back. Please help

I wish I could help you but I know nothing about setting the timing on our cars...except that it's very difficult.

Stay encouraged, someone will be along to help soon.

it sounds like you have the timing all set. did you put the wires back in the right firing order? I have been through this whole process one to many times.

Did you set the engine so it was at TDC on cylinder 1 when you lined everything up??

Yeah did everything correct but one. The book didn't explain it real well. When the intake cam closes it is set off to the left a little. When you put the belt on and tighten it with the tensioner it moves a little pretty close to the exhaust position with the arrow pointing up. But that cause shitty top end. Finally got it though. Thought I did this before but guess I didn't. On mine you have to hold the intake gear pointing up when you slide the belt on then take slack out with tensioner. Ended up being off by a tooth the other way. Runs great now. Thanks for trying to help guys
