twice now i have had timing belts snap in my b18a1 :( cant figure out why. first time was a few months after i got the car and a month ago the second one that i had the Acura dealer do because honestly timing is something im not interested in screwing up also snapped Anyway im at a loss i don't have the funds to keep throwing at this motor since im your basic delivery driver at 4.40$/hr. I found a company locally that has a 2001 CRV B20 available for 700$ honestly is that reasonable as a replacement i have heard the later versions of the b20 were not all that bad of an engine.

sorry if its confusing i was very upset when i wrote that let me go ahead and narrow down what i wanted to know
1) what in the world could be happening with my timing belts?
2) if i can would it better to swap the engine?

1.) There is no normal reason why tbelts would snap. Could it be too tight? Doubtful, especially by two mechanics. I would suspect something is rubbing on the tbelt perhaps. At this point the entire tbelt assembly should be disassembled and inspected. Inspect the old belt for signs of abrasion or scratches.

2.) not unless you have the money.

*Acura dealership should warranty their work if it broke shortly after.
