timing belt broke?...

I think my timing broke.. my car was idling. Died at 250rpm, now it wont start, I'm sitting in it now. Whenever I turn it over, it will start sometimes, then I hear this horrid grinding and tapping as it sputters, I give it gas and it dies. So anyone?..

best thing to do is not try to start it anymore and take off your valve cover and look at the belt

Sounds like you jumped time. Pull the valve cover and inspect the belt for any missing teeth. Good Luck
