what are the chances that the timing being thrown would cause head damage? talked to a guy that works on japan cars for a living he said that theres a chance i damaged the head. but im hoping not anyone have this happen to them before???

LS, not likely. i snapped my belt and there was no damage. even tried starting for a while and bump started down a mountain.

I believe its pretty highly unlikely any damage occurred unless you were in VTEC or higher rpm.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Looking for my next Teg..
above members are correct.. the head itself would likely not get damaged.. worst you can do on an LS block is possibly bend a valve, but from what I have known to be the case that has happened rarely and only when the belt skipped or snapped at high RPM ( I.E. racing)

i was on a spirited drive up a mountain. shredded the teeth on the belt. i didnt know at the time so i made a u-turn to go back down the mountain and tried 'bump starting' it. didnt work. got it towed home, opened the valve cover and found missing teeth. replaced belt and started it right back up with no problems.

There's 1 thread a week about a broken tbelt. so far 100% of those threads are no bent valves.
Replace and move on.

Well if you guy read my other posts i replaced head gasket so it wont at high rpms just wont start but i know the intake cam spunlike 180 deg cause i didnt put enough tension on it.
