ahhhh shit today i was just driving down the sttreet, and all of a sudden i couldnt shift to gears, the car was stuck on neutral. so i pulled over to the side of the road, turn off the car, and keep goin and it works but when goin to 3rd it does the same thing , it locks up and wont shift, then my clutch busts. DAMNNNN im hellla mad.... but it dindt smell like burnt clutch but i guess it burnt. so my car had to get towed to my house untill i get the loot for a new clutch...... Whats the cheapest performance clutch out there for a gsr. and how much would a stock one be? aight later guys

From what you've explained, the same thing happened to me. I was driving and couldn't DOWNSHIFT (no pun intended) but I could up shift with no problem. Eventually the only way i could get into gear was to match up my syncros and shift that way. I, too, thought it was a burnt clutch but what actually happened was one of my springs popped out. That's probably what happened. Have someone check it out. I had my whole clutch replaced and it cost me about $450. It was one of those LUK clutches. That's what the shop got me. They wouldn't do aftermarket stuff.

so does this mean i will have to buy a whol e new clutch or spring..... it worked a little today. like when the caris off i can shift thru all gears when car is turned off. when i turn car on i shift it to first then it wont go in anymore gears once the car is on n runnin.

sounds exactly like my car when this happened. Well, I'm not too positive. From what the mechanic told me, all that really needed to be was the spring needed to be put back in place. But it was a good thing I got a new clutch because with the wear and tear that the loose spring caused, my clutch wouldn't have lasted much longer. If you know someone who knows clutches, have em look at it before you buy anything you don't need to.
