t-19283 Turbonetics

A buddy of mine got this turbo for free, said it was "Lightly" leaking oil...

I looked at it and it had very minimum shaft play, decided to pop it into my car and check it out for him.

My car has been turbo'ed for about 2-3 years now or so, no problems until i recently had an oil leak and was driving home from ft worth...took awhile to find oil at a gas station... sadly i think that's what destroyed my turbo....damn you stoopid trucks with random tools in the back and your trunk bed wide open -___-""

Anyways, that aside, My buddy came to me with this turbo and so we bolted it on, Just wanted to see if it was leaking oil bad or smoking.

.... Turns out...

It hosed oil like a garden hose... out the Exhaust side... It literally looked like the turbo was throwing up....

So i tried searching for a rebuild kit and to no avail i cannot find one...

I actually opened up both turbo's the Turbonetics and My POS turbo that was suppose to be a genuine GT3076R, and I've got to say... a simple T3/T4 turbonetics was wayyy huge compared to the GT3076 pos i had...

I tried Gpopshop, Ebay, Kinugawaturbo, google, I'm at lost... Any ideas?

I want to get this turbo rebuilt and probably buy it off my buddy, If not then I'm going with a Precision T66 or something....

Hopefully the serial number is still visible on the turbo.
If it is, email turbonectics with that info and they should be able to tell you exactly what turbo it is and what rebuild kit will work.

But, there is a chance that the turbo is old and they don't have a record of it in their data base.
( That is what they told me when I emailed them my serial number )

If that happens, you'll have to measure the turbine's inner and outer diameter and compare your numbers to their online chart to determine what turbo you have.

Then you can buy the appropriate rebuild kit.
