swapping ecus

i have a gs-r engine, but lack the ecu. will any fit as long its the same obd? for example, will a 99 ecu fit a 00 gs-r?

You can use any p72 ecu on your GSR. One exception is the 94-95 p72 ecu's, they are obd1 instead of obd2.

Yeah, as long as you don't try swapping a p30 or p28 or whatnot in there, you'll be okay.

okay so my ecu fried the other day and i went to the junkyard to pick up another one and now it wont work cause the immobolizer is kicking in cause i guess its not matched to my key.. is there any way to get around this besides towing it to honda or acura and getting it reflashed...there asking 200 just to reflash.... if anyone could help i'll send you a free squash air freshener??...
