2 grand?
for what a non-vtec k motor??
just so you know K20A3's aren't real vtec's lol...they are known as econo vtec.
or they are just much cheaper in the states
a jdm k20a cost close to 7 g's
k20a3 is the motor found in ep3's. you're right, they have a different cam profile, and vtec engages around 2k and disengages around 5. however, you can buy aftermarket cams and make substantial power increases. basically what the stock cams do in this motor is stagger the way the air is brought into the engine making a swirling pattern that, i guess, helps fuel economy.
k20a2 is the motor is the motor found in an rsx-s, that has "real"
vtec, but im almost positive that its the same as the k20a.
if you have the money, do it. but if not, stick to a b. k series motors are wicked expensive (most of the time) and you need a lot of stuff to make them work.
i have a super charged teg, that bored .30 over, which is sopmewhere around 2L, and a built head, cooled with water methanol, and i culdnt be happier. the thing rips. i've walked a srt-4's
