sunroof problems. need help

i have a 98 ls integra. the sunroof for some reason wont open. What it does is, tries to open. i push the switch to open it and moves a little bit and i hear the motor trying to open it. im wondering if maybe the motor for the sunroof is bad/weak. is it even replacable/repairable? let me know if you have had similar problems or know what might fix it. thaks

I had the exact same problem with my 97 RS. I either push the button while lightly pushing the sunroof on the back at an angle this sometimes worked. I also would just keep playing with the button close-open-close-open then it would eventually start opening. Just make sure once you get it open don't close it all the way when you park just close it enough to where there's a tiny lip of the suunroof, do this to ensure you'll be able to open it again later without any funny business lol. Just make sure if you decide to leave the "lip" over night that it will not rain the next morning. I made this mistake in march and my recaros were soaked (thunder storm rolled through in the morning). :angryfire but I fixed em up quick enough to keep funky smells and mold away.

There should be a manual crank wrench thingy in the flat tire repair bag in the trunk. Use that to open it and inspect it further.

I read something about this in another post unfortunately I was the 6th user of my teg and this tool wasn't there when I got the car. lol OP if you haven't gotten your sunroof open yet try to see if you have this tool you may be luckier than I was. good luck

No tool. I have no idea which owner I am of this shell. I know I forgot about this post. Sorry. I tried to fix it and still have trouble with it.
