Sunroof problem

When I am opening my sunroof it tends to bounce like there isnt enough grease so it will glide smoothly. Also when it is fully open it tends to jiggle no matter what which drives me :evil: how do you solve this? is it just needing grease?

it may need some grease, but i would look to see that its still on the proper track. could also be the motor failing

Mine is a 99 and it does it a little... not very much, its still on track but you can grease it if its really bothering you

Its doing it bc as it is going down the track there isn't very much lubrication so its not sliding smoothly down the track. Kinda like if you take ur hands and drag them across a glass table and ur hand kinda bounces a little bc its gripping to much. (prob a crappy example lol)

you can try cleaning and lubing the sunroof channels but it won't illiminate the bouncing fully. you have excessive clearance between the plastic sunroof sliders and sunroof channel rails which causes the sunroof glass to bounce / chatter during operation

i sprayed mine with WD-40 and its helped it alot, so i am gonna grease it because WD-40 is also a degreaser, i just wanted to see if it would help and it did

I've tried white grease, silicone lube, WD, and I still got the same problem as well. I'd also like an answer from anyone who might have encountered, and resolved this issue.

My sunroof does the jumpy/bouncing thing when I open it also, but it doesn't jiggle when it's fully open.

I just put grease on my sunroof and it worked! it doesnt bounce anymore. Thanks guys!

i had the same bouncing problem so i greased it up and never had a problem after that

he is also right it might not be on track right or the motor might be calling it quits
