Sun roof help!

So my sunroof in my teg is slow as fuck when closing and it's like the motors dieing. I want get new motor off ebay or something. But my question is will I have to take off my sunroof to put new motor in or can I just take off the headliner and undo motor and look it up to the new one? If anyone coul give me link to diy on replacing the motor it would be helpful. Thanks

Replacing the motor is a huge PITA but its probably not the cause. Inspect the tracks. Clean them out of any rust and dirt then hit it with some silicone lube. Its usually slow bc of the extra friction caused by years of use and zero maint.

Silicon spray or Honda makes a silicon grease that also works well

WD40 maybe? Lube? My 96 has it's OEM motors and performs fine still, it's kinda hard to kill them imo(unless you keep holding the button and the motor runs til it burns out). Lube it up, if not fixed, then try the motor. Accessing the motor may vary depending on the year, but this is what i found:
