Suggestions for replacing the door locks.

I Do Not G A S!
This afternoon I lost my car key somewhere between the garage and walking to my apartment. I have gone back and forth 4x looking for the key. There are only three other Integra owners in my complex, so I'm a little worried if my car is going to be around tomorrow.

Anyhow, I was wondering if anybody has an experience with changing the locks on the doors? I found a kit for around $35.

Is it pretty easy to replace the locks or should let a pro (locksmith/dealership) do the dirty work?

yeah its really easy i did mine a couple months ago. takes about 45 mins a door maybe longer if you take your time. its just take the door panel off loosen the bolts holding the door handle in. make sure to loosen the screws holding the latch on the side of the door wher eit meets the body to lock shut make things a lot easier. its not bad at all.

Thx, but I don't get that last part "wher eit meets the body to lock shut make things a lot easier."

Loosen that or tighten it?

] these right here. loosen them so the rods that are inside that connect to the door handle have more play in them

rexpepper123, any tips on reinstalling the door panel?

The clip (or whatever it's called) right behind where I marked in the pic above just won't go in.

I tried installing the panel -->top in first and then slide to the right. But that clip is one tough SOB to put back.

i dont know if you'll get this in time but yeah those are hard i always start top to bottom when putting the panel back on. its hard to get it on the little metal crease. it takes a little bit to get them back on. try starting with the top right corner by where the mirror is first and work your way back. hitting it hard is normally what i do and if it doesnt go in just try sliding the panel around and hit it till she pops in. theres no real method to putting em on just lots of tries.

Found an easy (somewhat) way, I pulled that strip off from the left and slip the top of the door panel in and slid the whole thing to the right and pushed down.

Now the panel for the door handle is loose because I tried to yank that whole thing out. I didn't know or see the screw because it was covered up with a piece of plastic.

Oh well, at least next time should be much easier.

Thanks for the help! :thumbs up
