Hey, so i just purchased two 12" Kenwood subs and box. I drive a 2000 teg se. I am wondering whether to direct my subs to through the back seat or have them face to the back of my car? Any suggestions for better sound? Thanks.

The majority of the time, facing backwards is the best way. But since you have a non-custom fit box (I assume), just try it both ways and find out.

Yeah not custom. But out of into the car, to the back of the car, or new box which faces them up. Could you put in order best to worst out of those three positioning. Thanks.

Okay so i don't know. I'll have to play around with the positioning til i get the right sound. But thanks for the suggestions.

It will be an obvious difference in volume.

99% of the time you want it against your back seats facing your taillights. You want as much air space in front of the subs as you can get. And bass is non-directional, so it's false to assume that you want them facing the passenger compartment.

Since it's a store-bought box, I recommend you seal all the inside edges with fiberglass resin. You wont believe the difference it makes.

i have two 10"'s in teh back of my '93 and they bump hard facing rear. I've never tried facing them a different way.

Yeah i think i will just face them towards my tail light. If bass is directionless like suspendedHatch had said then to the tail lights them will face. Even better when i open my hatch i will be able to see how good they look haha. Thanks for all the help from everyone. CI is awesome!
