sub boxes help!

about to get a dual sub box for my two 12's...im gettin it custom made and i was wondering if any of you guys can put some pics up of your boxes (custom made or not)..

im lookin for a plexiglass around the two subs with the rest carpeted with bandpass..i noticed that most people have their box positioned going towards the front of the car or back, but i wanted to place it facing up towards the rear windshield..good idea?

towards the windshield is fine, but I prefer towards the rear. It will alter the sound a little bit bouncing off the rear glass instead of the rear wall of the hatch/trunk. Which sounds "better" is up to you.

been looking at proboxes, everyone says they are denser wood (mdf) and deliver out sound much better..anyone have experience with these before?

its either between a probox or a plexiglass box of this type http://cgi.ebay.com/VISONIK-V103BP-DUAL-10-BANDPASS-ENCLOSURE-W-SUBWOOFERS_W0QQitemZ110084999754QQihZ001QQcategoryZ32822QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

i want plexiglass so i can insert some lights on the corner to make it look...jus wondering if the sound difference is that much worser with a plexiglass box?

thnks

Those bandpass boxes sound like shit, I prefer a sealed. After that the slotted style like those probox ones in the link. I would never rock the bandpass.

lol mixing subs like that rofl. why did u do that?

BAND PASS sounds like shit? puhleesse dude. band path just as vented/slotted require port matching. any mexican can hookup some 12s to a bandpass but getting the right 12s for the box to make it sound good is a differnt story

bandpass is a good mis of sq=sound quality and spl= sound pressure level. sound pressure level is what makes your chest pound and sq is what makes your nieghbors down the block hear your bass.

slotted is good for sq

vented/ported is good for spl

face your box toward you for sq. toward your license plate for higher spl. dunno how much of the placement holds true but this is what generally is said at competition.

only get plexiglass for show.

oh yeah. making your own fiberglass enclosure aint so hard either.. takes about 2 days + planning and 140 bucks at home depot

^^ lololol, long story man looooong story.

I purchased my Alpine Type E's together with the box and one ended up being blown and the guy wouldn't refund my money (something about once purchased theres no warranty although the ad said that they were both in working order) so my friend sold me one of his Rockford Fosgate Punch P1's (since his other one blew) so... there I am. It was supposed to be one of those temporary fixes but I never got around to buying another Type E (have the other blown one in my room as a decoration peice LOLOL)... yeah. The story of my life. I was thinking of selling the box and replacing it with one that holds a single 12... I don't really need two.

Bandpass sucks ass for quality, you forgot sealed. Sealed is for SQ, so if you notice thats what I care about. Bandpass dosent make sound half as clear, lots of times the tone dosent seem to change. It is however my opinion.

Teg 10"s will be replaced later with one smaller sub, just to sound good. 2 10"s are alright sometimes too much.

i want to get 2 12" in my dc2. i know its sacraficing like 50 lbs of weight but i wanna be able to bump my music and turn some heads when i want to. :p will two 12" in a sealed box be good in my trunk with no back seats, facing the front window?(thats alot of air you know) any opinions on the 12" red pentagon shape Sony Xplods? those are cheap and their watt rating seems nice.
