stock b16 valves and boost

Hey guys Just kinda wondering how much horse power oem b16 valves can take? And are bronze valve guides worth the money? My plan is a built b16 making 350 wheel probly start at 300 whp. My guy who's doing the head is only charging me 75 dallors and hes going to put in new valve stem seals and the new brian crower valve train and the normal resuface and clean. I was wondering can i keep my stock valves for this kinda horse power or should i get some aftermarket ones? How do people on here like the bc stage 2 turbo cams?

Just remember, with the exception of a few parts like the Cam shafts, Fly Wheel, Crank Shaft, everything was engineered for a NA 160HP fly wheel power rating. Just do yourself a favor and replace the Valves, Springs, Guides, and Retainers.

Cant tell you about the camshafts, I stuck with OEM

B16 valves are just fine.. I have seen stock heads hold 800+ whp if your valve guides arnt out of specs then your fine... always replace valve seals tho...

Most of that is wrong... Valve guides are the same in all B heads and run off specs... the valves are made of the same thing.. the dish might be alittle diffrent but thats it... only reason to replace valve springs is when running boost like 30+psi the boost pressure wont allow the valve to shut or to rev higher but B16 springs are good to 8.5k anyways .. Retainers just do cause your in there but you can run stock ones w/ aftermarket springs. I persoanly like 1.8 gsr cams over b16 but thats me... Fly wheels, just good to go for boost stock wont allow the the engine to drop out of boost as quick as a light weight flywheel ....

Basicly a stock b16 head is good as is just good thing to replace valve seals and make sure valves are shutting all the way.

Im not trying to be a dick... just saying

The head was designed for a Naturally Aspirated 1.6L motor producing 160HP, you can't change that. Yes we know you can push the limits of stock engineering and come out on top. Why?

The question is, why not replace everything with stronger material. Of course you can get by with stock shit, you can get by with an ebay turbo kit to. If your going to go turbo, do it right and don't rely on old technology. There are better options now to build your engine for reliability, and power.

It's just two different ways of looking at it

I would love to spend big dallors every where on this build but when it comes down to it I need to just build a motor that will last and hold and my goal is 350 whp so if the stock valves can hold that than im going to stay with them to save money for other parts in this build. Like better stand alone or better turbo parts. thanks for the help.
