Steering wheel quick release help

So I don't have a security system on my car yet but I need to figure something out because I got in my car yesterday to go to work and right as I got in and closed the doors some guys walked by and looked in my car from an angle and said damn look at this guys sterio and I don't know how they didnt see me but they proceeded to look in my car and then i rolled my windows down and say hey and they left real quick. I think this is a sign from god that I need to take some precautions and get some security in my car. I was told a really good idea was to get the steering wheel quick release and just take my steering wheel with me when i'm not in the car until I do get my security system. Only thing is I have never even thought about having one and don't know what to look for and how to judge quality. Also I have cruise control and absolutely love it and want to keep it. Is that possible? My last question is I just looked at a video where a guy has a NRG quick release and is not using a wire to make a connection to his horn. How the hell is that hapening?? I'm hoping someone can direct to some good quick releases and help me before my car is stolen. Thanks

if i want your car i will steal it with or without the steering wheel. Steering wheel is only a deturant for amateur theives, I can still drive your car with a hub, i have done so moving my car downtown as i have to move every 2 hours per the parking laws, and i have no PS so your car bone stock will be easy. If they want your car they will get it. They will push it they will tow it.

Not saying im gonna steal your car, just making you aware of what can happen and the obvious choices probably wont work. I havent done alot of electircal but when i did i learned alot about how to prevent thieves from stealing our cars. My belief is that you have to know how to steal a car in order to prevent the car from being stolen.

However the horn is only in need of metal connections and once its grounded the horn works. the button has metal contacts which when grounded (hitting the button) it will send an electrical signal to the hub and make the beep. You can also use cruise control still it will just not look as nice. http://causeforalarm.thecarthing.com/cruise_control/index.html i suggest looking at that for security as well as the cruise control

Actually look up the main relay kill switch or look into getting 4 door, door handles. the door handles will prevent the amatures from stealing your car, ie jiggling the key hole, you can however still use a slim jim or peel the window with the door handles. Main relay will prevent them from driving off with your car

you could always find a Nardi horn button with integrated cruise control switches. :D

Wow that really sucks. I thought the quick release would be a sure thing to make people think screw this shit. My dad told me to remove the main coil wire but I feel like thats just going to be a hassle every time i get in and out of the car. Hopefully I can find something.

no security in the world will keep your car from someone who wants it unless you get like lo jak and hide it somwhere hella good

I really wish people would just leave shit that is not theirs alone!!! I just need to figure something out because I hate where I am required to park my car on my college campus. No lights, security comes by maybe once ever 2 years, no cameras, and very little light. Basically the best place to jack a car or some parts. My dad has a lo jack sticker I think i'm going to put on the windshield. Maybe that would work haha.

im not worried at my college campus. =) i park next to Mugen TSXs (legit) Turbo FA5s, S2ks Type Rs, R33's Built Hatches, Evos etc. hahahaha, i just take my wheel off to hit people in the head
