starting the motor

just got my new rebuilt motor in.
its cranking but not coming to a full start.
i checked all the grounds and made sure my distributor wires are in the right spot but cant figure out why it wont start... Help please =D

is there spark? the plug wires may be connected, but doesn't mean there is a spark

pull a wire out and stick it near the cars body or frame. have someone crank it and see if you can see if theres a spark, looks like static electricity at nite. Better to do it if its dark.

im thinkin its the spark...i dont have anyone to help me with the car till tonight.

every now and then i see a small cloud of exhaust come out the front. (manifold isnt all the way tightened)

not sure about the fuel pump.. will check

ok well i am getting spark.. so i dont know what to do now.. fuel pressure maybe... a fuse possibly?

on a LS how many grounds are there

Ground can do it. But youre gettin Spark...my guess is something with the fuel.

Well 1st, turn the key to the Acc, postion and listen for a hum, that would be the fuel pump priming. if not, check the fuse/reley. Replace if ness. if not, fuel pump is probably toast

Another thing I forgot. check the timing

i doubt that it is toast. there has to be somthing
