Starter picks random times to work

So my 90 DA (b20 swap) has started having starter issues this past week.

I go to turn the key and the dash lights come on but there are no clicks, no nothing. I've had to jump it like 5 times this week. I tested the battery with a continuity tester and it has full charge. I've done some research on this and know that since the solenoid isn't clicking when it doesn't start, its either the wire connections, clutch interlock switch, ignition switch, or starter relay. I know this isn't a fuse problem because it happens intermittently.

whats really weird is that all the times it has failed to start, it has been on a flat surface. whenever I park it facing down hill as a precautionary measure, it starts every time. maybe the starter is dying, it takes longer to turn the engine over when it does work than it did a year ago.

any advice?

You make sure the little connector on the starter (should be a little spade) is on tight? I had this exact same issue.

I had this issue as well. I 80% guarantee if you hit your stater with a hammer or the back of a long screw driver, it'll start. Your connections inside of it are either getting gunked up or frozen. Hitting the starter should help break the crap away.

Seriously, I did it, my buddy did it, it works.

Hahahaha! I knew it! Yah I had to hit it ever so often (about 5 solid hits) for about a month. After that (4 years ago), I've never had the problem again. You're welcome :D
