its easy..instead of him poppin it like he was suppoed to..he help it in just enough to burn it. he probably had his e-brake up too so if there was any room for the wheels to spin the car woulda cut off anyways.

yea hes in gear, but he didnt release the cluch all the way, he held it partially the way out. He didnt slip it at all, he burned that beast up

You can see in the begining he knew the wheels werent spinning, but then i guess he saw some of that smoke from the clutch and thought it was his wheels
