So this is really recent, but now whenever i engage my clutch i can hear a squeaking. This may go on after i engage my clutch but i only hear it when ever i am engaging it. What do you guys think this means? Or maybe its the belt and it needs to be replaced? let me know asap cause im afraid to drive with it like this:(

Does it only happen when pressing and/or releasing the clutch? If so it's probably the master cylinder or the pin that connects it to the pedal

im pretty sure it happens both. is this somethin that i need to worry about? i mean the last thing i need is for somethin to break down on me up here in the mountains...

It could just be due to the cold weather......or it could be a sign that your M/C is about to crap out.

My GST does it when it gets really cold. On that car, it is the metal pin that holds the m/c to the pedal lever and it drives me freaking insane so I usually just put some white lithium grease on it

No, it wouldn't. If it's coming from the engine bay then that's not the problem. The only moving clutch parts in the engine bay would be the slave cylinder and pressure plate

this happened to my DA. I put a large towel on my driver side floor, then got under there and reached up with some WD-40 and sprayed the spot where I heard it squeaking from (its pretty far up there). The squeak went away and clutch engagement was softer.

EDIT: make sure to press in the clutch after every spray so it spreads throughout

the fork is what pushes the throwout bearing which puts pressure on the "splines"/teeth (dont know correct term) of the pressure plate, in turn disengaging the clutch from the flywheel. hard to explain to somebody without the actual equipment for you to see and feel, but then again i am a visual learner. i found a video:

i'm still thinking its just a squeaky pedal. try to get under your car, in the bay, down by the pedal, etc and have somebody else press the pedal in/out while you listen to pinpoint where the sound is coming from. probably just needs to be lubed up.

^damn its gets so cold that your cd player doesnt work? wow, what is that like -50 or something.

and it could be a squeaky pedal but i also thought that about mine and then my slave cylinder went out a couple weeks later. mine was also coming from the engine bay, and i was embarrassed about it because would look at me and my car would just be squeaking away. try the WD-40 and keep some brake fluid n=handy in the trunk of your car. if you feel the pressure in your pedal start to go down then refill the master cylinder and take it to a shop. i think i paid 65 to get mine done, but if you want to do it yourself i think a slave cylinder is 45 and the installation doesnt look too hard.
