Im building a vtec head in class and i was wondering if its ok to use a thinner head gasket, spoon ect. . also will it still be as reliable as stock? since there is less piston to valve clearance its kind of worrying me...... what do you guys think.

The Spoon gasket will raise your static compression appx. 0.4:1 on a GSR engine. The Mugen gasket is just slightly thicker (0.02mm thicker, 0.45mm vs. 0.47mm).

id just run the oem gasket. if you want to bump compression a little, get new internals or mill the head. leaky headgaskets suck; and i only run oem for that reason.

But once you mill a head, you can't un-mill it. And dropping on a headgasket is so much easier and cheaper. Use some headgasket goo and it'll be cool.

200whp on a stock gsr block is kinda hard to acheive. you'll need alot of headwork and a REAL header even then not sure you will hit your goal. i think the most i read of a stock block gsr with a really expensive head was 194whp. good luck with it but i would just find a set of pistons b16 or ctrs.
