Looking for my next Teg..
when you say everything have you verified the speedo cable is functinal?

do you have a CEL?

is the cable firmly seated in the VSS?

is the cabel clipped to the back of the cluster?

Jesus is THE way
when my speedo stopped working it was because the pigtail that plugged into the sensor on the tranny rusted out. which means all i needed to do was go to the junkyard and clip off another one in decent condition and splice it onto my harness and plug it back in, problem solved.

i have a spare harness laying around, i havent checked if it has that specific pigtail on it but its for obd2 idk if itll work. check the plug to see if thats actually the issue and maybe we may be able to work something out. otherwise i was told the only other option, considering you dont have any junkyards near by, would be to buy another harness for around 500 if this is the problem. edit: i guess da's use cables to operate the vss so i dont think my solution will work out for you.

The speedo on that generation is a mechanical cable. Trace the cable to the back of the transmission (closest to firewall). The cable tends to pop out if the clip is not perfect. It can LOOK like the cable is seated and not be seated fully so inspect it well.

It has been my direct experience that when this happens you get a check engine light on the 90-91

when my cable broke at the cluster the other end popped loose from the VSS & threw a code 13 or something like that which translated to something with the VSS..
