speedo cable or electronic?

K guys, theres a whining noise coming from the driver side of my car and my friend said something about the speedo cable spins and sometimes they start making a noise like that. Just seeing if first of if thats a possibility and second does my car have a cable or is it electronic?

all DAs come with a cable driven speedometer. and that is a possibility. does the noise get louder when the speed is increased?

nine times out of ten its the speedo cable and all i did was take it out and rolled it around in some dry graphite u can buy it at ur local auto store and if ur in a place were its cool alot then it will do it wheen it gets really cold
