I just got a 92 integra ls and the speedomiter didnt work so i got a new cable and got it hooked into the cluster. I got it into the tranny but it seems like it doesn't stay in real good and when i drive it the speedomiter bounces all over the place any suggestions. The turn signals also dont work and its not the bulbs or a fuse any suggestions.

what do his turn signals have to do with his speedometer? Double check your connection to the cluster and trans, if it is the for the correct car/trans it should plug in fine, it could be your cluster thats messed up, or maybe vehicle speed sensor

2nd gens work off a cable, so a sensor wont affect the speedo jumping around.

I'm going to have to go with the spring in the cluster that might be your problem... make sure its all the way into the trans too, and held in with the clip. that cable bouncing around might affect it

could be cluster failure. i havent looked at our wiring fo our cluster so idk. take the speedometer(transaxle) out and inspect it. see if it moves freely and make sure the teeth arent damaged. then re adjust the cable till it fits right. if that doesnt help it remove the cluster and aquire you a wiring diagram then work from there.

dude trust me it's not the cluster. I have the EXACT same problem and I tried replacing the cluster and it STILL did it. god the bouncing needle is annoying as! lol. I think it must be the way the cable is fastened in, on the cluster side there is a clip attached to the cable that locks into the cluster, and on the gearbox side there is a "C" clip type thing, mine doesn't have that part so i think thats my problem.

anyway good luck man! and keep the advice coming guys I'm interested too! :D

When I finished installing my speed cable, I took it for a test drive to see if it worked. Mine also bounced around. I went back under the hood and pushed down on the speed cable and it went in the speed sensor even further and clicked. Went and test drove it again and it was fine. It's probably your problem too.

I've had this problem. easiest way to be sure it's in correctly is to pull out speed gear/sensor from trans(it's only one bolt. leave the 2 hoses attached) hold unit in hand and while pushing speedo cable into "sensor" move the gear on bottom of the unit a little and you'll hear it click and feel it go all the way in. then take the clip and put it on "sensor" (small slit on the side of where cable goes in) and pull the cable just a little bit to make sure it sets into the groove in the speedo cable and not pull out. then just push the whole unit back into trans and reinstall bolt.

Yeah it will.
Vss code. I lost my clip for a while and if I got on it my cable would fly out, causing a cel.
