Speedin's DSM getting a little TLC

Ive been putting off painting my Valve Cover for awhile (mainly due to the downtime). I also have put off fabbimg up my heat shield and spark-plug wire cover. Well here they are. The Heatsheild needs to get its paint(same as valvecover) and some rubber so it seals up nice. And obviously the plug cover needs to get paint. Im also thinking of cutting a design into it. We will see on that one. Anyways. PIX

Looks really good. I need to paint mine. I'm thinking of silver with black or red lettering.

Quick question: Do you have replace the vc gasket if you take the vc off?

Valve cover looks good. I need to paint the one on my GST because it is fairly hideous

You might as well why it is off. They are cheap anyway. No since in putting a 10 year old gasket back on. V/C gasket and spark plug seals go for like $30 tops

That looks cool. Not too bad, but its missing the honda emblem... lol

does that heat shield actually make a difference?

I didnt replace mine. They had to have been replaced before. I mean they were in PERFECT shape. Came right out. They didnt leak before either. So I just reused them with some copper gasket on them.

Oh and yea, that heat sheild on the intake helps quite a bit (once I get it sealed of course). The underhood temps on a DSM are BAD. Any turbo for that matter. But yea, it helps.

INSTALLED PIX!

Testing the fit of the plug cover (needs some smoothing/trimming)

Now im hoping the paint holds up :???:. My test section did (did a spot right by the EX mani). But the plug wells might be hotter than that area was. BTW, I used Dupi-color wheel paint and the clear. Only because I couldnt find this nice of a color in high temp

I dunno about cutting it out... maybe if you could get something under it if you do cut it out.

It looks sweet tho!

Its already cut out... and OHHHH BABY! This is gonna look good. I already know what the paint is gonna look like . A little red border around the openings, then gunmetal for the rest. Well time to go paint it :)
