I bought my 95 Integra LS Special Edition last September with 132,xxx miles on it and instantly fell in love. 5 speed with intake and exhaust and that was it. It was far from flawless seeing as it had major clear coat fade on the passengers side and no clear coat on the roof. However it was mine!
About two months ago Maryland's Eastern Shore had a terrible popup thunder storm. Was one of the worst i have seen, my stupidity told me to try and venture home from my girlfriends house when it let up and on my way out of her community i made a blind turn and hit about 18 inches of water with my CAI near the front valiance. Needless to say the results were far from good.
About a month ago i ordered a replacement B18B1 from Hmotorsonline and two weeks later it was en route. While on its way the truck it was on had a tire blow out and jack knifed and the engine got damaged (Along with a K20 and b18C5 ) Steve at Hmotorsonline had no other b18bs to send me so i settled for a b20, after all theres no replacement for displacement  He expedited it to me and credited me money back. Two business days later and cross country it got here.
Well this past weekend, just a few days after receiving the motor it was time to swap it! My pops was helping me, he was a mechanic for roughly 30 years which made it significantly easier. Bought a few things that i figured i might as well while it was out. Stage 1 Exedy clutch and pressure plate, Avid solid torque mounts and replaced motor mounts.
Started the swap about 8 in the morning saturday and by roughly 3 in the afternoon i was able to fire it up only for a minute and hear her purr, or roar with no exhaust mani at the time.
Updates to come on the engine components! Still have to do the radiator and ac lines. However my grandmother is having a quin heart bypass so that has tied it up a bit.
In the time it has been down i have taken the time to do things such as body work, gotta get the honda cancer off the car and such. As well as steam cleaning the car.
I work in a metal fab shop so the metal work isn't too bad and is nearly complete with the exception of welding a plug in the hole for the antenna delete and the brake light hole from the old GSR spoiler.
The last and final project involved is paint. I have decided to prime it myself using a DeVillbiss Starting line gun and Summit Racing 2k Urethane surfacer/primer. Having an ex coworker paint the car, and it'll be a starburst black pearl.
First bits painted so far
Updates to come!
