Smog Question

so lucky me, I live in california and get the honor of having my car smogged. obviously joking i hate it...so i took my car to get smogged today and the NO(knocks) was way to high...i had this problem originally and i replaced the cat and everything was fine. well now the knocks are even higher then the original smog. could i have burned up my cat in less that 6 months? anyone know another reason what my issues might be? to help lower my knocks

yea u burnt ur cat its from running rich in reving at hi rpms.u can lower nox by having stock headers...if u have dc it wont pass cuase it runs to hot

everything is back to stock...and i dont drive my car hard...im waiting to put in my new engine..just cant believe it burnt up that quick

any number of things and combination can raise your NOx levels. you'll have to take into consideration the other emission levels as well. get a diagnostic done at a test and repair. it'll save you money and guessing around. if it's the routine bi-annual smog test or required to go to a test-only station this year, you'll qualify for the CAP program. that program will pick up the tab as long as the diagnostic, repair, parts, and labor ends up being under $500. anything over that is out of your pocket.
