I have a smaller lighter crank pulley and have the right belt to fit but have been told with the smaller pulley it will burn up my alternator. Is this true and if so can I buy a bigger alternate pulley to make up the difference or do they make an alternator that will work with the small pulley without messing up?

Underdriving your alternator may cause it to have to work harder when there is a heavy electrical load, but I doubt that is much of an issue. I doubt you are running a serious audio system, HIDs, neons etc along with your underdrive pulley so you should be fine.

Underdrive pulleys make no measurable difference on an import. If you have any kind of problems with it I suggest switching back to the stock pulley and make better use of your money next time.
