Single 10" L7 Setup

Building Kick!
Picked up a single 10" L7(1200/600w) in a ported box today for $35
I'm just wondering what a good solid amp would be that could push the L7 well enough! I've been looking at this..
Rockford Fosgate A/B R500-1 MONOBLOCK but I am not sure if it has the power to push the sub properly :(

Opinions? Suggestions?
I'm currently running 6 - 6" Car Speakers and 4 Tweeters so my Mids/Highs should be there.. Just need a little bass nothing crazy!

The last system I had was 2 Kicker CVR12's in a Ported box w/ Kicker SX700.4 Amp.. That hit hard as hell!

first you gotta check what kind of voice coils the sub is, they come in dual 2ohm and dual 4ohm
once u get that determined u look at amps and go from there

the one ur looking at will work but for the price is alittle high when u will only get half of the potential of the sub

i suggested this amp before, the AQ1200 REAL GOOD PRICE
http://www.audioque.com/AQ1200D-Amplifier_p_30.html
4ohm-wire it to 2ohm u will get around 900rms
2ohm-wire it to 1ohm and u will get its full power of 1200rms

lastly i would build a custom box, to make it hit the looows

hope that helps

I'm not sure exactly but I believe it's a 4-Ohm that has been wired for 2-Ohm.. There are 4 Connections on the speaker(2 Negatives, and 2 Positives) that are wired into each other. I can only see it by taking the little cup off the side and peeking in as the box is completely sealed off.. One thing for sure this is a SMALL PORT, I will probably end up doing a custom box to work with my trunk so I can keep a little trunk space free..

I'm not looking for earth shattering bass, I just wanna bump a little bit that amp's a little outside my budget.. I wanna be able to push the L7 properly but I was looking to invest around $100-$150 on a decent amp.

Whoever owned my car before me had a Phoenix Gold system installed, I have the Speaker pods on both Driver/Passenger side where the kick panels should be(1x6" and 1 Tweeter on each..) Phoenix Gold tweeters on each side, Phoenix Gold 6" speakers all around. Also the previous owner ported the hatch cover that hinges over the hatch, also the entire hatch has that silver tape lookin stuff I guess for sound proofing? That stuff's done throughout the entire car, it looks like it's even above the headliner but I could be mistaken..

Looks like this!

i could see it now, you trying to peek thru the small hole

hahahahaha

hard to say witch one it is still, whether u wire them 2 or 4 ohms ur still have to wire them to each of the coils
i would take it out and check what it says on the back of the actual sub.

if it is 2ohm u can go with this amp, just like the one u had planned to run. this is where i get my stuff, actually have stuff on the way from there http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_27501_Combo-Rockford-Fosgate-PRIME-R500-1-Amp-Kit.html but only if its 2ohms(sub)

thats good, never heard of it but im sure it helps(the silver stuff) lol its def sound deadener, i have a few layers through out my teg as well, make a night and day difference

Damn I'm scared to crack the enclosure open, I don't see any screws holding it together I believe it's sealed from the inside or something.. Even if I unscrew all the screws on the rim of the sub I can't pull it out >_<..

I'll get some pics of my interior tomorrow, and try to get the sub out..

its prob a tight fit, loosen the screws. take the rear cup off and push on the magnet with something carefully to push the sub out
