Never understood why the hell people install such high stage clutches in these cars that are barely making 200hp with bolt ons......i see alot of people saying they have stage 3 and 4, correct me if im wrong but arent those rated for cars making from 300hp and up? i mean i know when i had my mazda(speed, boosted) protege5 thats how the clutches were....

Each manufacturer will have some discrepancies between their "stages," but some people like a stiffer clutch.

I think it's just a "bigger is better" mentality when buying parts, and people not making educated decisions on what their car actually needs to perform at it's best.

May be that they are thinking ahead. Perhaps one day they think their car will be fast and furious. :)
And like was said above, some people just like a stiffer clutch.
If you burned up your stock clutch, why put in the same garbage? Upgrade. :D

Why do the same thing twice, do it once and be done.

I stick to that moto- and I planned to boost my car, and I've always LOVED the feel of a 6puck, and light weight flywheel.

I know my stage 3 is rated to 310ft lbs, and with a basic turbo build on a stock LS, that's a perfectly rated clutch.

i would say use a stage 2 for replacement of a stock, unless someone is planning on building and boosting in the near future a stage 3 would just be too annoying to deal with i'd think

Dude, I deliver pizza 6 nights a week with my clutch setup, I daily'd a 450whp 300zxTT with a stage 4- 6puck for 3 weeks while I was working on it for someone.

It's not much differance IMO. :) I love how grabby they are
