shredded a tire

Hi.

Shredded my driver's side front tire on something metallic in the road. The front tires were the newest (probly less than 10,000 miles - fuzion irt). Any thoughts on replacement? From what I understand, the front passenger side tire generally wears the fastest (power generation)...what about a new tire (same brand, size, etc) on the passenger side, and switch the current passenger side tire to the driver side? Am I nuts? ....Am trying to learn how to keep this car as long as possible because I love it (and it still gets close to 35 mpg!).:???:

You should really have a matching set of tires, preferably all around, but at least have a matching set up front and in the back.
