Should I trailer to tuner??

Hey guys i was just thinking and want your opinions. King Motorsports is about 15 miles away from my house and they will be installing and tuning hondata when i get my turbo setup in the summer. I do not want to install hondata myself but i do want to install my turbo at home. Should i just trailer my car to King Motorsports and wait until hondata is put in to run it. I think that is my only option because i don't think driving the car there on a stock ecu w/ bigger fuel system (pump, fpr, injectors) is possible or safe. What do you think i should do. I want to put the turbo kit on myself but want to leave the hondata up to the tuner.

yea i think that's the best thing to do but it's gonna suck putting everything on and not knowing if it runs or not lol

You could always just take your ecu to them to intall the hondata. Once you have the turbo on, drive it there for the tune.

i guess this is a good time for me to ask....is hondata a whole new ecu or is it a chip that gets installed into your original one? I would be getting the s200 unit with boost option. Do you think i could get hondata installed first...drive the car home...put on the turbo kit...and then SAFELY drive back to get it tuned for turbo. Because i know that hondata has base maps that your car can work off of they're just not finely tuned.

trailer it over there .... if you know someone whos got a truck you can get those little uhaul trailers for $30 per day ... just unbolt the axle back section of your exahsut so it doesnt scrape ... you might have to take off your front bumper too but other than that you should be good to go.

Hondata S200 is an external box that is wired into the ecu. You can tell whoever is installing the Hondata what your plan for the car is. They can map it for that. When the build is complete, take it for tuning.

The car won't have to be there for the Hondata insataller to install it. They will just need the ecu. You can run the drag launch clutch switch yourself.

ok but the car will have to be there obviously when it gets tuned so i'm thinking i should just trailor the car to the tuner so he can install hondata right away and then tune it on a dyno

what he is sayin, though, is that you can have them install the hondata s200 to you ecu, then put the ecu back in your car and drive it there (for the most part) safely to get it tuned. just tell them your intended setup and they can give it a "rough tune" that will allow you to drive it there and get it fully tuned. hope that helps. it would save you a couple bucks on renting a trailer. but to be honest, i'd go ahead and just trailer it there if i had the option.
