short shifter problems

well i just recently bought a short shifter and just installed it. yes i know supposed to be an easy install right? well ive ran into the problem that the bottom of the shifter rubs against the top of my exhaust! has anyone ever had this problem, and if so please tell me what to do! i

ive had this problem but it only did it once in a while... one thing that i tried was to let the exhaust hang a little bit lower by adjusting the rubber pieces that connect to the hangar... the reason it does this is the short shifter has a longer bottom part to it that takes a lot of the throw outta it = short shifter

what short shifter do you have? i have a b&m precision short shifter and mine doesnt hit at all.

Normally, good name brand short shifters won't hit.

Is your exhaust factory, or aftermarket?

well from the b pipe to the cat its all just hanging freely. and the exhaust is an after market system. so i dont know if anyone has this but no issue at all!
