Short shifter bend?

I installed my short shifter and I was wondering does the bend in the shifter bend foward or back towards the driver?... I currently have it towards center console....

mine is a dual bend which sux total ass. its bends towards me. i wish i had a regular single.

well maybe mine is a no name brand? im not even sure it came with the car when i first got it.

to original poster, if you have either the single bend OR dual bend, having it closer to the center console is backwards for either shifter. turn it around so its closer to you, not the console. i've got a B&M Edge short shifter and this thing is great. its a straight shifter, absolutely NO BENDS. been thinkin of goin with the B&M Dual Bend to put the shifter a little closer to the driver. since mine has no bends at all, it actually positioned the shift knob about 3 inches closer to the center console when in neutral.
