shifter issue?

i have an automatic 91 integra, i bought the car as is, the shifter has always been an issue, sometimes it will not start, i have to rattle the shifter for about 10 minutes then it will start up, it only does this in park, i put the shift in park, and it doesnt register that it is until i push it and hold it forward. anyone experience this issue? i believe it is the shift rod, it isnt the solenoid i know that for a fact, i just dont know how to fix it, or fix the allignment

You should be able to bypass the neutral safety switch, same thing happened to my s13

I would just do what he said and bypass the neutral safety switch. I did that in my truck, starting in gear ftw! Lol.
