Hot tank (clean)
Deck the block
Sleeve + hone

Hot tank (clean)
*Refresh the head (valve guides, valve seals, check valves for any that may be bent)
Resurface the head
Valve job
*Port and polish

The machine shop will hot tank the engine before working on it to get it cleaned up. You may not want to replace the parts in the cyl head, but as long as you have it open, might as well have them replaced/checked out. You do not need to do a port and polish on the exhaust/intake ports, but it increases flow through the head, and it will probably run about $300 itself. (You can google the port and polish on b18c heads, theres some differing opinions on how much it actually helps in an already well flowing head)

depending on what kind of application the motor is being used for, you might want to have the block metal slugged.

im very picky about who i have sleeve my blocks. Benson, Golden Eagle, and ERL are the only companies i trust to sleeve a honda block in that order of preference.

the Bensons sleeved block is perfect for a street car, it is open deck like honda made it which helps with cooling. the machining is perfect every time. i have run 2 of these blocks in personal setups upwards of 600+whp and many friends with benson sleeved blocks as well with no issues.

as far as valvetrain ferrea is excellent, and supertech is great as well and is a good bang for the buck. ive ran both. i have supertech in my current setup and im happy.
