SeaFoam Engine cleaner?

What's everyone's opinions on this Seafoam stuff? It's supposed to be like that Engine Restore stuff. I heard that Engine Restore doesn't do squat, but this Seafoam stuff is good.

Which is better to pour it into? The engine oil or fuel? Can you pour half in one, half in other and still get the same effects? because i dont want to buy two bottles for oil, and for the fuel system too.....

Anyway, wanted to get everyones opinions on whether this works or not before I went out and bought it.

I say use it, Speedin says no.

< has never had a problem with it and I've used it on all 3 if the cars I've had, plus countless friends and family's cars.

Some people do have problems with it tho. It's really your call.




EDIT: don't put it in your crank case. Pull off a vacuum line and pour it in slowly there with a funnel, then take your car on a beat run

Any vacuum line? It should be a specific vacuum line, shouldn't it? I forgot the pricing, but for $10 it might be worth it see if it does anything. The tegs got 167k miles now, thinking it might be time for a little compression rebuilder stuff or something.

Idk I've heard mixed reviews. Some people swear by it, some people swear it fucks shit up.

BTW you're supposed to disconnect a vaccuum line, rev the engine and let it suck it in.

But I'm with Robbie, I've used it...no difference. Just be ready for a SHITLOAD of smoke when you're using it, don't be scared. And like Kuch said go for a hard run afterwards.

Has anyone done a compression test before and after to test it? I'm thinking about getting some for my Jetta too, but i dunno....... This kind of stuff is pretty Iffy

look on youtube on how to use it. there are a lot of good tutorials about it. I've never tried it cause i heard it cleans so good that leaks form because the carbon deposits would block it.

I am skeptical of that stuff. I've heard good and bad stories from it. The way I see it, my engines run fine. Why risk it?

i run the stuff that valvoline sells several times. i hooked it up to the line that usually connects to the pcv valve. the first time i did it i noticed a BIG difference because of all the shit it cleaned out. But i also cleaned the im... my car had like 115k on it when i did it and it made a HUGE difference, but it also really depends on how bad its needed...

ive used seafom in my 99 gsr and my friends have used it in all of their cars....

it smokes like hell but it runs great after...

i used it on my teg that has 140,xxx miles on it, it cleared alot of crap out, i used one bottle, put some in the gas tank to clean out my injectors, in the oil, and the vacumm line. i ran it for a few miles and i noticed a diff. better gas mileage, smoother idling and when i changed the oil i was had put on about 500 miles since the last oil change, and then i changed the oil b/c it thins it after you use seafoam in it. the oil was pitch black from all the deposit build up coming out. i say use it its good stuff, it like powering washing you motor on the inside.
