well the motor goes in tomorrow and as long as the motor i bought is fine (seller said it was, but who can you trust nowadays) ill finally be driving around again. woot.

spun a main bearing in the built motor and its the 2nd time that built motor has given me issues so i tore it down and parted out my turbo kit to have something reliable for a little while. i put a stock bottom end in with my built gsr head

Damn man that sucks. I sure hope that doesnt happen to me. My GSR is my daily driver too so if something blows im fucked. I should probably turn down the boost but its too damn cool. You going to build it again?

yeah but im going to have a backup motor when i do. my built gsr was my daily as well and when it went down, i went without a car (2 months almost now). so im going to build a motor and keep this one so if anything happens im not without the car again

sweet, once i finish my turbo kit, the first thing i'm doing is building another motor, just in case i crack a sleeve, cause i'm a dumbass and have stock sleeves!!!!!!!!

stock sleeves will be fine bro; dont sweat it. just get a good tune and you can do 500+ on stock sleeves. im going to get my turbo kit first most likely since manifolds go on sale around christmas. im getting an afi top mount this time around. hopefully before my bday (april 5) i will have my built bottom end and turbo kit ready to go on. we will see though, gotta pay off some debt before i start buying stuff again.

well it runs, but it wants to rev up to like 4000 at idle and in neutral. i dont physically detect any vacuum leaks, but thats all i can think it could be. the throttle cable isnt stuck or anything and the iacv duty cycle is at 0. this is the same head and accessories as before and it idled fine. has to be a HUGE vacuum leak somewhere? i wish i had an air compressor and boost leak tester
