Run 1 or 2 12's, what should i do?

I own two twelve inch subs, what i am wondering is in my integre(coupe) should I go with one sub and sell the other or use both? And in both cases what would be the best placement with a sway bar? Pics of own position would be great.

If it were i, i would keep one, and sell the other. Depending on what kind of box they're in, may affect your gas economy (maybe not a lot). I tend to take those kind of things into consideration. I have a 10" alpine type r and a kenwood amp, id love to have two subs but would weigh down my car.

if your not so worried about money and like the tunes...keep em'

I doubt the extra weight from the fiberboard for the box and the sub will make ANY kind of a difference in gas mileage. I guess that means you don't ever drive around with passengers, because that would be 3x+ the weight of the box and sub.

If you want one sub, go for it. If you want more bass, use two. If you want some hatch space to store things in, use one.

Im pretty opinionated and usually come across a bit aggressive. I dont mean to be, so dont take it the wrong way. My fingers hit the buttons before my mind makes everything look nice and pretty.

If you like alot of bass, want to spend the extra money for a two 12's box, have the amp power to run two subs, keep both subs.
If you want the extra trunk or hatch space, lower vehicle weight (helps mileage and handling), don't have the money for a two sub box, then only use one sub.

And what does a sway bar have to do with subs? You mean a rear strut tower bar? Sway bars are under the car.

I have a single 10. I downsized from a 12 to drop weight and gain space.

its alright mirrorimg. i find that a lot of people are opinionated. i try to be open minded about a lot of things.

yeah that what i mean. I am sorry. Do the subs always have to sit in front of the "REAR STRUT TOWER BAR' or is there any other positioning without getting a custom box done?

It will sound much better if the back of the sub box is against the back of the rear seat. Only amateurs face it toward the passenger compartment.

One 10 in a well built ported custom box is just as loud as two 12's in a store bought box and the 10 is much tighter too. In the last place I worked we had a display setup to prove it.

By well built I mean that the port volume is calculated to the sub specs, the box is reasonably thick, glued together, with fiberglass resin on the inside of the joints and the plug for the wires.

^This! I am running a 150 Watt Rockford Fosgate P1 in a Rockford Fosgate P1 "Custom ported box" or w/e and it is crisp and can be decently loud. (Not the blow your eardrums loud tho cuz that isn't my style)

Amen to that...my 10" alpine is in a custom box facing the rear of the car and depending on what i am listening to and how loud the sw level is...can be deafening.. most the time i keep it low (5 on a 15 scale)

i have 2 12 inch type Rs and they sounds great. not much trunk space left and it makes you really ass heavy so be careful going around wet corners. we have a round a bout here and if i go around it going faster than 35mph when its wet the ass will try and break loose.

i thought about the 12" type r's too....figured id run into the weight issue too...the 10" isn't bad..not too noticeable. with my 18" chrome tsw's and the sub though..the gas economy notices
