RPM not working.

I just changed my cluster yesterday because the rpm's weren't working. after i changed it that still did not work and all the cables are connected correctly. does anybody have any idea about anything else that might be wrong......would a v tech remote effect the rpm's in anyway?? any help would be great :(

yea thats the only one that doesn't work is the rpm gauge and it was working perfectly fine until Monday afternoon. and after i changed it the cluster yesterday all the needles were working perfectly fine except for the rpm gauge and the other gauges were working better than before so idk what might be that is messing up the rpm gauge. :(

Might have a brake in the wire going from the distributor to the cluster... you could make a jumper to test it... if that dosent work then might have something wrong inside the distributor

I would start tracing wires and try to find any of them that are damaged, as Acetobe suggested.

Check that plastic peice that connects ur dizzy wires its probably f#%^ up .. If not change the dizzy i had the same problam on mine

where are tha cables you guys mentioned located at? dou you think the speedo cable might be f#%&*d up?

If the speedometer works the cable is fine. The tachometer runs off a wire that runs to the neg side of the distributor, so the speedo will have no real effect on it.

Can't seem to find the problem, even though I diagnose everything and check every single wires. In the end I change the entire engine harness and it started to work, so I will never know what was wrong but as long as it's working now I'm a happy camper =D
