hey, i did a turbo on my car about 4 months ago and ever since i put the kit on, i got a problem with the rpm's on the cluster. i forget to post a thread about this problem i been having. Ok. so when im driving or doing pulls my rpm cuts off at 5K and it just drops but my rpm are still going but my needle stays dead. I know when to shift is when my check engine light flashs at me, but i dont know when i redline at. I just wanted to know is there a way i can fix this problem or is it because i switch to a OBD1 ECu?? or problem my ignition igniter is going dead?? what is it? any answers please help

IF you haven't had the car properly tuned with the management that you put on it (if any) you're inviting yourself to a whole world of problems, including a blown engine. Giving us some detail of your setup would help, but I have the feeling you just put in a "chipped" obd1 ecu and started driving. This is NOT good for the engine..

I do have a chipped obd 1 done by Matt over at DSG (dent sport garage) what are some things you reccomend? Is that the reason for the rpm drop? i mean i have a check engine flashing at red line to shift but i'd like my tach back.

That could be in the cluster itself, or a connection in the cluster. I misread your post, but sounds like the RPM signal is not getting to your cluster.

So you guys don't believe this happen during the OBDI switch over? shouldn't i focus more on that then the cluster itself, This did happen right after the OBDI ecu was installed. Could it be wiring in the two ecu's is different?
