Rough ride, Engine Surge

I am new to owning an Acura so I have a couple of questions, I have a '99 Integra LS and it is the roughest riding car I have ever driven, and my first vehice was a worn out '71 Ford F-100! Every little bump in the road feels like your running over speed bumps at Wal-Mart. Is that just a characteristic of this car or do I have a problem somewhere? Also after driving for about 15 mins and returning home, once I put the car in park the engine starts surging from about 800 to 1600 rpm , but it doesnt do it all the time. I really like the car and hope these are that can be fixed easily. Thanks

Since your car is an automatic (you put it in park) I can guarentee that the problem is with your fast idle valve (ftiv). This is located on the bottom of your throttle body. My car did that all the time when I had both an itr and skunk 2 throttle body-both do not have the fit valve. You should pull the throttle body off and remove it-2 bolts. Use some brake cleaner to clean it real good-clean the entire tb while your at it. Make sure the o rings all seal up. The problem should go away. Make sure to use a new gasket-one for an automatic. Hope this helps.
