Rotten egg smell loss of power??

Been forever since I've been on here cus the cars been running great until tonight. Have a 1993 db1 all stock but lowered. So I take off tonight first gear was strong and after shifting I noticed a lag in power and a rough idle. Get to the store a few miles down the road and it's stinking like rotten eggs. Most things I've read point to the cat being clogged. Does tht sound right. Some say the battery. The cat being bad makes sense cus if it's running rough and the cat is clogged its restricting the flow. Anyway. Help please. Can I keep driving it or not ??

Easiest way to test, Just unbolt the cat from the pip coming off the header and run it. :p Should notice a serious difference right away.

I plan on taking the exhaust off tonight. If it still runs bad is there something else it could b. I'm worried it might b something major. Could a blown head gasket cause these symptoms or something else cause these symptoms ??

both. Battery for leaking acid, and ECU area to see if the smell is coming from there. My battery got fried and leaked acid due to a shop installing a faulty alternator. Which lead to the ECU getting fried as well. A nice hole right thru it.

Took the exhaust off and still runs like shit and now the check engine light is on. Guess I'll check the battery and ecu tomorrow. If the battery is leaking will a new battery fix the problem ??
