Ripped apart GS-R

Hey all, I just had to post this...I think mostly because I have been holding on to this and I had to vent a little bit to those that would understand.

So, I had (and yes had) a perfect condition GS-R which I was so proud of (washing twice a week and plenty of maintance) with about 80,000 miles on it that I had purchased when I was living in Coos Bay, OR.

My wife and I had a better job opportunity in San Antonio, TX..So, we moved out here carriing what we had on my Acura. Well, we started out with some family to get our feet on the ground and finally found a great apartment complex (gated community) that we are still in and 1 day, I went out to go to work and it was gone.

So, I called the PD and they told me that there had been a bunch of Integra's stolen that night and they think that there is a chop shop in the area.

Well, a couple of days later a detective called me and said that they found my car and he told me that it had been stripped completely and that it was located in Indian Creek (whever that was). Apparently it was the hood or something. Anyways, he told me that it was towed down to their lot and he said I could go and see it.

Well, I could not see it at all, I was pretty pissed...how could someone do that??? Well, I called my insurance company and they were all over it. I did get pics from them and they gave me almost $10,000 for my 98' GS-R. I was happy with it, but at the same time sad because I lost such a great car to some piece of crap...

Thankfully I was able to pay off the finance company on what I owed on my car and I told my wife to go ahead and pick out something for her this time, because I picked out my perfect car prior....I was mad about everything. She chose a Limited Edition PT Cruiser lol.

Well, to some it all up, I miss my GS-R and it has been something that I have always wanted, had, and took care of. I even have a cap with "clubintegera.com" on it, which does not make sence to wear driving a PT cruiser. lol

Thanks for allowing me to post and %&#$ you who who stole my car....

Sucks, good you got your money, and get rid of that PT Cruiser. Reasons, thrust bearings are made of steel and block is aluminum after time guess whos going to give up, the block. After that happens your crank is going to go from sway from side to side. First things thats going to happen is the gasket where the crank pulley goes is going to pop out then its down hill from there.

the curse of owning a 3rd gen. i know exactly how you feel. mine was also stolen destined to become parts but the cops found it before that happened.

chin up, at least your insurance gave you a very reasonable payout for it. shame your wife picked out such a awful car but hey, at least you won't care about it being stolen.

Thanks for the posts all, it was more of a vent to those that understand (and you do). I am sure the Cruiser is going to have some problems, I can feel it in the transmition and the brakes when I drive it. I keep telling her, but you know how it is lol.

I would love to have another GS-R, but in more safer conditions. Lowjack I have been told is what I should have had, otherwise I would still have my car I don't know.

I will keep you posted, thanks again,

Chris
