does anybody have any tips on relpacing the speed-o cable... never done it on any car. how bad of a job is this gonna be???

Does it need replacing or did it just come out?
A lot of times if Im fucking with something near it, I knock it out then forget to put it back in.

It shouldnt be too difficult. What is your mechanaical background.

its not that bad its just completely annoying...

first unhook the cable from the transmission... make sure you save the c-clip

and then you can start removing the dash bezel...
get to the 4 screws that hold the cluster in....
and you can pull the cluster out slowly...

you could also go back and fourth and try and feed the cable through the firewall to make it easier to pull the cluster out.

installation is basically the reverse... just install the cable at the cluster first.

my speedo cable has the same problem and i have tried to put lube on it but the problem still exists so i think it would just be easier to get a new one.

its easiest to have a second person around to grab it while you are feeding it through the firewall.
